About Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)

The expansive Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) campus in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, is well-known across India for its high academic standards. It was founded in 1875 and offers graduate, post-graduate, and doctoral level programs in a variety of subjects. It is the ideal fusion of tradition and contemporary. 

AMU offers many courses on STEM, humanities, and law-based courses. Many of the programs require competitive tests for admission. Also AMU is also a participating university in CUET. Students all across India study here for different courses. 

The university offers a five-year integrated BA LLB degree for students who want to pursue a profession in law. It is one within the top 15 undergraduate legal programs that Indian colleges provide. The AMU Faculty of Law administers the entrance exam for the BA LLB program. 

 The exam is administered once a year, usually following the conclusion of the plus two exams. In addition are campuses is in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, which is also the main campus and there are additional campuses in Murshidabad West Bengal, Malappuram Kerala 

Students can enrol in and complete the five-year integrated BA LLB program at any one of three campuses. 

Eligibility Criteria for Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) 5-year UG BA LLB program 2025 

1. Education: Candidates must have passed the higher secondary school test (plus two) administered by an accredited Indian educational board.

50% or higher on the combined score from the two qualifying exams.

Students may also apply if they received at least 50% on their AMU Bridge Course-Senior Secondary School Certificate exam.

2. Age Limit: AMU eliminated the age limit in their 2025 announcement, thus there isn’t one.

3. Nationality: Subject to specific restrictions, candidates must be Indian citizens or NRI students. However, some foreign people may also apply. The AMU admission course prospectus is available for student candidates to review.  

Application Process for AMU BA LLB 2025 

The official AMU admission portal is used to complete the online application procedure. The consecutive steps are as follows:

1. Enrolment:

Go to https://www.amucontrollerexams.com/ , the AMU admissions website.

Click the “Apply Online” link for BA LLB 2025 that appears.

Fill out the form with the candidate’s name, email address, phone number, and any other requested information.

2. Information must be entered on the application form

Enter your contact information, educational background, and personal information when you log into your account.

Copies of the candidate-student photo, signature, and any further papers must be uploaded. It must adhere to the required format and dimensions – It will be mentioned on the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) admission portal

3. Application Fee Payment: All applicants have to make a payment of Rs 1000 for the AMU BA LLB entrance exam. Net banking, UPI, credit cards, debit cards, and all other payment methods are accepted.

4. Before submitting the application, make one last check of every step. The application form can be saved or printed out.

Note: When filling out the form, be sure that all the information and documents are correct. It is impossible to change later.

AMU BA LLB 2025 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The AMU BA LLB admission exam primarily assesses a candidate’s general knowledge, logical reasoning, English language proficiency, and current events awareness. There are a few easy questions. The majority are slightly above moderate and some are difficult ones. 

Exam Mode and Duration: The exam will be administered offline using a pen to mark multiple choice questions (MCQs) of the objective type on an OMR answer sheet. No detailed responses will be provided.

The exam will take two hours to complete in total.

2. Marking scheme: One mark is awarded for each right response.

There is a.25 deduction for each wrong response.

3. The BA LLB syllabus is divided as follows:

(A) Proficiency in English (40 Marks)

  • Synonyms and Antonyms in Vocabulary
  • Grammar questions 
  • error detection in sentences 
  • Complete the blanks.
  • Idioms and phrases 
  • One-word alternatives 

(B) Current Affairs, General Knowledge (40 Marks)

  • Current events in India and beyond
  • Legal Knowledge
  • Significant rulings from the Supreme Court
  • History, Economics, and Politics
  • GK that is static 

(C) Aptitude & Reasoning (20 Marks)

  • Reasoning logically (blood relations, coding-decoding, and statement correlations)
  • Analytical skills (number series, syllogisms)

Post test admission process – 

1. Result Declaration: Shortly following the exams, the AMU BA LLB 2025 result will be made public. Typically, no more than two to three weeks before the test

Using their roll number and login information, candidates can view their rankings and scores.

2. Merit List & Cut-off: A variety of elements, including comparative scores, the total number of applications, and the total number of seats, will determine the cut-off marks.

The student-candidate’s plus two grades will not be taken into account and only the scores of the exam will be considered. 

Counselling & Admission Process 

Those who meet the requirements on the merit list will be invited to the admissions and counselling process. The processes are as follows: 

1. Counselling Registration & Seat Assignment: AMU will contact shortlisted candidates for a counselling call. The AMU website will be updated with the dates.

ID proofs and academic documents are among the necessary documents that must be provided.

Reservation procedures for each category, rank, and seat availability determine how seats are distributed.

A student can choose the campus of their choosing if they receive a high score.
